This archive list presents just a tip of the iceberg but is about how Erdogan is killing the life of the nation of Turkey as it is given birth by founding secular father of the nation Mustafa Kemal Ataturk in 1923.

means: effect on currency, financial market or economy

In May 2013, days long protest broke out over  -what first was known as a plan to build a shopping mall in the  only vegetated area downtown Istanbul.

However, during the days of police crackdown, reports began to leak:

It's not a private person or a company but Erdogan himself who had plans to build in that park.

Erdogan is a staunch admirer of the Ottomans. His plan? A huge army garrison compound in full Ottoman style. See building complex at the opposite of the high rise building.

Gülen had criticized Erdogan's response to the Gezi Park protests and his policy of closing down Gülen's private schools to widen the spread of his own Imam Hatip schools.

The disagreement between Erdogan and Gulen escalated into a skirmish, with Erdoğan accusing Gülen of trying to bring down the government by using their influence over the judiciary to cause a government corruption scandal (known as the 17-25 investigations due to the dates on which it occurred.

Erdogan's use of "overthrowing the government" began three years earlier when he started to cleanse the military from secularism by (also) accusing generals and other high ranking military officers of "overthrowing the government"

In August 2016, Erdogan's "overthrowing the government politics" was widely branded as the 30 years coup in Turkey. This politics is since 2018 used as a weapon against opponents no matter if they have participated in the protest or not.

The European Union has rebuked Turkey for its crackdown on anti-government protesters, postponing a new round of membership talks for at least four months, but said the path to the EU remained open. Tuesday's decision by the EU, discussed in advance with Turkey, drew a mild response from Ankara and avoided a crisis in their relations. The EU had planned to open a new chapter in talks with Turkey on Wednesday, reviving its bid to join the bloc, which has been virtually frozen for three years. But Germany, backed by Austria and the Netherlands, blocked the plan, saying it would send the wrong signal so soon after police cracked down on protesters in Turkish cities.
